What is NLP?
Neuro-linguistic Programming entails the use of effective strategies to create changes in your thinking and communication, with the goal of achieving new and positive perspectives. “Neuro” relates to the brain, while “linguistic” refers to the language you use, and how you use it. “Programming” refers to the patterns and habits that you create, learn and persistently follow. As we experience the world through our senses, the information is translated into thoughts and words. The thoughts affect our physiology, emotions and behavior, which can be heightened or dampened, depending on how you use language within your own brain.
Co-founded in the early 70’s by Richard Bandler and Dr. John Grinder, Neuro-linguistic Programming was modeled upon the work of excellent professionals like Dr. Milton Erickson- founder of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and widely recognized as the world’s foremost medical hypnotist.
Everything you need to begin right now is already within you!
NLP techniques are based on the concept that you already have all the internal resources and capabilities you need to effect change in your life and the lives of those around you. These techniques give you the ability to choose an emotional or mental state and hold it – for as long as you want, whenever you want.
Who Can Benefit From NLP?
NLP offers new ways of communicating between parents and children of all ages for the purpose of supporting children in achieving excellence in any area they choose.
NLP can be used in teaching to improve the ability to impart information in ways that makes learning easier. Identifying natural learning styles, using presuppositions and language patterns, and eliciting states in learners that are congruent with learning, are a few examples.
NLP offers a cognitive model and practical tools that can help you improve your health. Working with NLP can help individuals lead more satisfying lives in a number of ways, including helping people change their limiting beliefs, habits and behaviors, facilitating people to manage states and emotions, and guiding individuals to find meaning in their lives by setting achievable well-formed goals.
For Personal Challenges
Smoking, Weight Loss, Lack of Confidence and Unfounded Fears: When a client is strongly motivated, NLP offers successful strategies and techniques for all of the challenges listed above. While some of these challenges do take a significant investment of time and effort to overcome, with others, clients move forward towards what they want to achieve almost immediately.
For General Personal Change and Development
By exploring NLP, people learn to communicate with and understand themselves much better, while they simultaneously communicate and understand better with those around them. Over time, this leads to ongoing and positive change in their lives.
