As you can see from my previous post, I am not keen about letting my kids watch TV. I simply believe that there are better ways for them to spend their time and more interesting things to occupy themselves with.
My children mostly watch TV on movie night, which is on Friday or Saturday nights. Since my kids vary in age and interests I try to find movies which suit them equally. I place a lot of emphasis on the content of the films I choose; quite frankly I don’t care much for the Disney movies featuring whomever is the current idol. I believe them to be entertaining yet full of attitude and lacking in values.
In my pursuit of quality and meaningful films I searched ‘inspirational movies’ on Google and discovered many entertaining movies with positive values. As examples, ‘Ice castles”, “Letters to God”, “Hachiko” and more came up.
I look so forward to the weekend nights of sitting and watching these great movies with my kids. We enjoy them together and then discuss them, sharing insight, comments and values.
Please share other great inspirational movies for kids with me and our readers.
